Baby Furniture Ordered!!

What a great Thanksgiving this year! Filled with friends, family, & football! Jeremy & I realized this will be our last Thanksgiving alone, after 6 years as a married couple. :) We could not be more thrilled to start this whole new part of our lives! We got the baby furniture ordered, and I feel so much better! I feel like the list keeps getting longer and longer of all the stuff we have to do. So to get one big item checked off helps me breathe a little! Here's the furniture we went with, except we got the espresso stain.

We go to the doctor tomorrow and hopefully we will find out what the munchkins are! I hope they cooperate! And then the next day, I leave for NYC!!! I am so excited, we are gonna have so much fun!!!

Baby Bedding

I have been looking around for baby bedding and I'm a little overwhelmed! Everyone seems to think we are having a boy and a girl, so I've been looking for something that could work for both. I think I've found the winner!!

I love the long curtains, but I'm not really crazy about the valance.

Dr Visit

I had a visit with Dr Ray today. Everything looks great! The twins are growing so fast!!

Here is Baby A:
Baby A moves around so much! It's hard to get a steady heartrate.

Baby A again. Heartrate today was 171!

Here is Baby B:
Baby B is still the shy one! He/she just lays there, so calm!

Baby B again. Heart rate is 158!

1st picture together!!

We should be able to tell in a few weeks what exactly Baby A & Baby B are! I am so excited, I can hardly wait!!!

I go back to Dr Ray this Thursday, the 4th. Please pray for a good report! I can definitely tell they're growing because my belly is growing!!

Baby Gifts

As soon as people found out we were expecting, the gifts began rolling in! Jeremy & I were talking last night, and it's amazing how much our babies are already loved. We can't imagine what it will be like when they get here. It's so sad that some babies are never hugged, kissed, and spoiled.

The Past Few Weeks

Backtrack a couple of weeks.

September 20th-I knew I was pregnant. But being the big chicken I am, I refuse to take a pregnancy test. I've taken so many & had learned to dread the outcome.

September 22nd-I almost throw up on a patient. Okay, it's time to get a pregnancy test. 5 minutes later I walk over to Jim Myers. 5 minutes later I found out I'm pregnant. I'm so excited but really nervous at the same time. Having 6 losses will do that to you. I was working with my best friend, Jessica, that day. So I tell her and she has the same reaction I do. Excitement and nervousness all at the same time. I send Jeremy a pic of the test and a little bit later the phone is ringing. I called Dr. Ray's office immediately and they ordered bloodwork. I have it drawn by 10:00 and at 12:00 I get a phone call. It's Dr Ray's office. I immediately brace myself for the bad news that always comes when she calls. However, Nancy's (her nurse) 1st words are: "I've been waiting a long time to make this phone call. I have a great news. Your HCG is 489 and your progesterone is 39." I freeze. The highest my progesterone has ever been in any of my pregnancies is 12. Yes, I said 12. Even progesterone suppositories and injections didn't help. I'm so excited but again, nervous. Dr Ray orders bloodwork for September 24th. She said HCG normally doubles every 48-72 hours and as long as progesterone stays over 25 we're good. Jeremy & I don't tell anyone about the pregnancy. We had grown tired of disappointing people. We immediately start praying. I pray, "Lord, please give me a sign that everything is okay. This is completely out of my hands."

September 24th-Bloodwork repeated. HCG is 1128! It had doubled twice in 48 hours. Progesterone is still climbing as well. Jeremy & I realize this is too much for just us to handle. We need more people praying. So we call the parents and siblings. They are excited and nervous too. I immediately think it's twins. Bloodwork doesn't normally double that quick. Repeat bloodwork on September 27th.

September 27th-Bloodwork repeated. HCG is 5136!! So no more bloodwork!! Which is good because I had track marks up my arms. Ultrasound set for September 30th. Of course I cheated and let one of our ultrasound techs take a look. She confirms pregnancy when she sees the gestational sac & yolk sac. We decide to tell close friends.

September 30th-it took forever to get to this day. My great friends, Chasidy & Joy, are the ultrasound techs at Dr Ray's office. They were almost as excited as we were! They do a transvaginal ultrasound. Chasidy shows us the gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole. Everything looks great! She says, "I'm gonna take a look at your ovaries..."(long, long pause) I knew what was coming. I knew it, I knew it. Whenever I talked about the pregnancy I always said "they" not "he" not "she". Chasidy says, "have you been on clomid?" I said "yeah, why?" She said, "I think there's another one in there." I immediately start to cry. She shows us the gestational sac, yolk sac, but couldn't see a fetal pole. I knew right then & there at that moment, that everything is going to be fine. The reason we've had such a long road is because God was preparing us to love and care for 2 babies instead of 1! He knew in that moment that we would be so happy! We meet with the nurse. She takes my blood pressure. "110/78. that's perfect", she says. I just smile at her. She says, "you did hear them say you're having twins right? Usually that causes people's blood pressure to spike." We meet with Dr Ray. She is optimistic. We schedule an ultrasound for October 7th. We decide to tell family it's twins. Everyone is so excited!!

October 7th-We get to hear the most amazing sound in the world! Our babies' heartbeats! Baby A is definitely a show off. He/she was bouncing all over the place as if to say, 'look at me!!'. Heart rate was 126. Baby B is the shy one. Every time Joy would try to take a pic, he/she would jump over to the edge of the sac and hide! Heart rate was 136. Dr Ray said everything looks great and she'll see me back November 4th. Now for those of you that have been fortunate enough to not have problems, that may seem like nothing. But to me, the fact that I don't have to go back for 4 weeks, is truly unbelievable!!! I am being treated as a normal pregnancy!! I've waited 5 years for this!!

I feel so blessed that God has found me worthy to be a Mom to these precious babies!
